I love the wall-of-vegetables look you have created here. In fact, that's what I first thought it was from a quick look at the small thumbnail. It was a good idea to select one or two items from each to highlight with colour, even if the white onion doesn't really stand out from its white mates. I can't decide whether the sign helps or hinders, but at least it gives me more to look at and think about.
