5th: Misty Bridge by Tim Ashley

Oxford, England

Taken in Oxford in 1980 with a Contax 35mm SLR on Ilford B&W film, scanned recently on a very dodgy scanner.

g'day tim - a timeless image, and u, niamh & JDU pegged it with the grain - it really does add a great quality - i can see why it's a long time fav. I'd hang that on my wall every day of the week. Thanks

Hi Tim,
Very effective. This might qualify as being way ahead of its time with the sunglasses shape happening there. Grainy B&W was definitely the best choice for this one.
Cheers, John

Niamh, you're always kind! I like the grain too. I have a very beaten up old silver halide print of this and it's always been one of my favourites. Call it noise and we hate it, but grain... mmmm!

LOL! The "dodgy" scanner came good! Love the grain and brooding feel.
