Ljubljana

The castle on top of the hill is the oldest part of the city. It was mostly rebuilt after an earthquake in 1511. "Ljubljana" (actually "Laibach") was first referred to in 1144, although folks were living there for 3000 years before that. Slavs settled here in the 6th century.

We had a lot of fun at the Sunday flea market, held along the riverfront. You can get all the statues you want of Josip Tito. We didn't want any. But there was lots of other stuff that required stern self-control. I'm a sucker for most historical stuff.
