Structure A-11 was believed to be the palace of ruler k’uhul ahaw. Access to his residence was restricted by the use of a hidden interior stairway
. This stairway was excavated in 2002 & 2003 by the Belize government’s Tourism Development Project, directed by Jaime Awe
and Dr. Allan Moore
