Salt
2381

Salt from the sea. In past years we could see the pink salt evaporation ponds
and little mountains of salt along the shores of our bay. Now the salt marshes are being returned to nature.

A picture worth a thousand words.

Salt is essential to our very being, essential to all animal life, yet toxic to most land plants.
In ancient times more valuable than gold. Salt dictated your position in society.
Nobles above the salt, Pesants below.

Very nice shot with this lighting and the blue plate. Fresh sea salt is the way to go, though I also use soy, fish sauce and oyster sauce a lot for cooking.

I use Sea Salt and Kosher Salt for most cooking. This is a beautiful way to present the Sea Salt! Nice work!

Well composed Margaret - I like the counterpoint with the peppercorns at the side...lovely light reflections across the bowl too...very nicely done!

We try to use less salt, but nevertheless it still is essential! Great shot.

Yes, the spice of life, without salt we would not have good taste on any food, it´s the most used spice in the kitchen, also needed for preserving food like clip fish, Good thought on that. Thanks!

I don't eat a lot of it these days...just a turn of the grinder occasionally that's a pretty composition, Margaret.
