The Waverley

Dunoon, Argyl, Scotland

Caught this image of the Waverley in the picturesque Argyl town of Dunoon
It awaits a full compliment of passengers at the end of the Cowell Highland Gathering
Famous as its is the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world
It offers a gateway to the lochs and isles for cruising down the River Clyde
Passengers view some of Scotland's most spectacular scenery whilst sailing 'doon the watter'

Brings back memories....as a small boy, it was a summer treat to sail doon the watter from the Broomielaw, in Glasgow, to Rothesay on the Waverley. I can still hear and smell the engine-room!! Super capture Tony :)
