Fudge discovered his inner water dog today. It's been weeks since I had the chance
to bring him to the beach, so even though today was cold, dull and dreary, I was
determined to take him to Gyles Quay for a good run around. As soon as I got
to the beach, I realised just how much he's grown. He's not a timid puppy any
more, but a sturdy animal. Galloping along the sand, his long legs saw him
cover the strand in no length at all. And, for the first time, he was keen to
explore at the water's edge. I have no doubt that had I thrown a stick into
the water that he would have swam out to retrieve it. With the temperature
at just 3 degrees, I thought it was too cold to have a soggy doggy, especially
as I didn't have a towel with me to dry him off.
