Water Dog

Fudge discovered his inner water dog today. It's been weeks since I had the chance
to bring him to the beach, so even though today was cold, dull and dreary, I was
determined to take him to Gyles Quay for a good run around. As soon as I got
to the beach, I realised just how much he's grown. He's not a timid puppy any
more, but a sturdy animal. Galloping along the sand, his long legs saw him
cover the strand in no length at all. And, for the first time, he was keen to
explore at the water's edge. I have no doubt that had I thrown a stick into
the water that he would have swam out to retrieve it. With the temperature
at just 3 degrees, I thought it was too cold to have a soggy doggy, especially
as I didn't have a towel with me to dry him off.

A marvelous photo. Fudge looks as if he is on the hunt.

Nice shot; it has a good "dynamic line" thing happening with the path from fudge's nose up to his tail. The exposure speed was just right to pick up the movement of his paws and the effect on the water, giving it a feel of movement and action.

He looks tough. Probably has no concept of pain or discomfort. Pure energy!

Great to see him growing up, you could have just got in with him if it was a barmy 3 deg ;-)

Pooch has really grown Mairead!!!! And I agree, a soggy doggie could make for a soggy you if Fudge shook off the wet fur! :^)
