I can't resist sunsets. I took lots of photos today, mostly of gates for the monthly challenge, but
as often happens, it was one of the last photos which I took that I liked best for my PAD.
After year's overcast sky, today was bright and sunny, but still cold. We took Fudge to the
beach at Shellinghill this morning and again he was happy to get his paws wet in the water.
After lunch, I headed out on my own in search of gates. I know exactly the type of gate i
want to feature in challenge - the old farm gate with character, mostly likely made in a local
forge or one of the ironworks that Dundalk was famous for. Unfortunately they have in many
cases rusted away and have been replaced with mass produced tubular gates. My search
took me up the mountainside to Dulargy, overlooking Dundalk Bay. I found some interesting
gates, ruined cottages and old sweat houses.
