Went for a bush walk today a bit further up the mountains. Sandy spotted this one on the track and its about 60 cm long. As far as I can tell its a Black Bellied Swamp Snake. Apparently can give you a painful bight but is not dangerous. If it is a BBSS then it is towards the southern end of its range. We havn't seen one before so was an interesting find.
