I went up to the Great Smoky Mountains this morning before sunrise to be the first to enter Cades Cove when they unlock the gates at day break.
That is the best time to get this foggy look. Well this morning the fog was very thick so I went looking for wild life while I was waiting for the sun to rise more and burn away the fog. This one was taken on my second pass in the loop.
See Cades Cove is a one way eleven mile loop that can sometimes take up to 3 hours to drive, during peak season, summer vacationers and fall color finders move SLOW. So this can actually be a tough shot to get. If the fog is too think then it is a gamble that it will burn off before the cars start to line up and then you have cars in your shot. That is no good. But this morning I got lucky.
