First Train Ride

Abby's father is down for a visit. We have been taking him all over Knoxville.

Today we took a ride on the Three Rivers Rambler. A scenic two hour train ride along side the Tennessee river and East Tennessee's country side.

There were lots of familys on the ride and this litte girl would peek her head out every time I leaned out to take a photo.

This is probably my most cherished moment captured since I started doing this PAD project, and at the time of writing and posting this it is only about 2 hours old. I posted this quick but I am going to redo this image probably a hundred times till I find the right combination that makes it perfect, replace the sky, try making it black and white, crop it better and so on. This is one of those shots that you just feel right about and want to make it as good as possible.

Looks like she's really enjoying it! Bet you could sell it to that rail company.

I really like this photo James. I believe that there is a certain amount of mystery surrounding trains. Especially in the
states, where automobiles are the norm for transportation. I can remember fathers boarding on their way to jobs in
Chicago and departing when they returned home. I remember the deep rumble they made and their hooooot-hoooooot.
A novelty the child, and the child within can relish.

What a fantastic shot. The train, the curve of the tracks and that beautiful little face peeking out....
