This brings back happy memories when I from the age of 5 in the 1930's my family used to camp at Loves Farm and mum dad my 3 elder brothers plus their friends and my sister we all went every Friday & Saturday nights to the Rose & Crown.
My brothers & their friends were known as the B Boys. Happy Days.

Hey all,

Just came across this, looking for older pics of Leysdown.

My Wife and I have a holiday chalet in Leysdown built in the 1940's. I pass this pub walking the dogs when we're there.

If you're not local and would like some more pics, I would only be too happy to oblige.

Just ran across this while poking around. Charles Arnold was my maternal Grandfather. Eileen was my Mother, she has passed on a few year back now. I last visited the area in the very early 60, when I just a wee lad. I really should go back. The Rose and Crown was where my Mother first met my Father Robert Tanton during WW2, he was in the Canadian Air Force stationed at one of the coastal Radar site on the Isle of Sheppy. She came back to Canada with him and was happily married to Robert for over 50 years, until, he passed on in 2001. Cheers

This was my great uncles pub.Charlie Arnold. My father worked there when he was evacuated there in the 40's. His name is Ronald Spear and he remembers two families down there. the Morphys and the Riddles. Mrs Sharon McGowan (formerly Spear)
