My dad Ronald Day owned No.5 on Shellnes Beach 1960's until the 70's, I and my brother's and sister and my wife Yvonne, had great holidays and weekends, we came down Hoxton, London, time spent beach and boat fishing, beach party's with relatives and friends, summers were idyllic,Mum and Dad loved this place, even the winter's were good, great memories, I now 67, our neighbours were George Taylor and Ken Giles plus families, families further up the beach were Oxley family, daughters Carol and Brenda, and the Boothroyds, we all used the Muswell Manor Pub, I also had friends there, especially a good mate John Moore and hisfamily from Bermondsey and the Ducks family.
Sadley the Bungalow was washed away in the late 70's, having survived the famous 1953 major flood
I hope this helps with some Shellness Beach history

Sheerness library have no records about Shell Beach.
I am thinking of putting together a few notes based on the memories of people who knew it in the 1930s and down the years (I know two and have spoken to another who still lives there).
If this comes to anything may I use your picture of Shell Beach? This would just be something for the library records, not to be sold. Do you know the date of the picture, or if it would be before or after the 1953 east coast floods?
