Does anyone know if this building was still standing in the 1980s? Thanks

It was named Bridgestone House by Delamark Banks who built it for is bailiff. His father Sir Edward Banks built London Bridge and saved many of the stones from the old bridge as momentos. he used them to fix up Warden church. When that was demolished Delamark put a bridgestone in the house wall and called it Bridgestone House !!! The house was used for 10 years as a beer-house called the Smack Inn. Then the owner of the Wheatsheaf pub bought it and closed it down. His daughter opened a postoffice and tearooms there. The London Bridge stone was stolen when the house was being demolished.

Hello, it was my families property. It was hanging off of the cliff but we went and removed the rest of the dangerous overhanging brickwork.
Regarding the stone from the bridge, that isn’t the reason it was named.

Hello, did this building get demolished or go over the cliffs?
not sure exactly where it stood on Warden Road, such a shame it isn't still there, looks beautiful.

The reason for the name Bridgestone House is there's a piece of stone in the front wall that came from the original London Bridge!
