Hello to Iris again I remember Kelly well in Leysdown. I remember my dad had cooked himself a huge breakfast one morning but then Kelly came into the arcade and my dad gave Kelly the breakfast. Kelly didn't always look as he looks in the above photo! Regards Linda

Hello to Iris Adams I don't remember you, sadly ... by then I had moved away up to London to marry and start my family but George Parlane was my dad. And Wellworth Arcade was my home until January 1966 when I returned most weekends. Just found this website ... my daughter found it first when I was telling her of family history. Thanks for your piece. Kind Regards Linda (Parlane) now McMillan

Thanks to Trevor for the great photos, and to everyone who has posted so many interesting stories of Leysdown.
I played the drums at Priory Hill for a few years in the early 1960,s. The band was:- Bob Gilbey-piano. Dave Stone-saxophone & vocals. Steve Barney-bass. Me (Reg) on drums and George Hobbs was MC. My wife ran a hot dog stand in a corner of the main hall, before it was refurbished.
I think that Dave & Doris Williams ran Wing Camp in those days, later becoming managers of the main camp. Doris is still around, her grandson owns the Royal Hotel in Sheerness, and she lives opposite the Royal.
