Hi, I remember my Nan, grandad and their friends singing around the piano every time I would go on my holidays to Leysdown as a kid, I think I had my first ever pint in there. I also introduced some of my friends as we got older and would drink in there when down the van. I used to help Ellen in the side bit with the pool table selling sweets, so many good memories. I was gutted to see it gone and since Iv been going the last couple of years to Leysdown wondered about Ellen and Alan, such lovely people. Does anyone know how they are?

I remember St Ives when Sue and Alf ran it they were Ellen's mum and dad.
I worked on fish stall outside rose and crown at weekends this stall belonged to Alf.
I have just been back there today after 50yrs Ellen is still there, but there is nothing left
On site just the house. Ellen came out and spoke to me told me Allan was in a home
And she was trying to sell the place. I have so many memories of Leysdown all good

We used to go in there every evening. (My mum, dad, sister and myself). Lovely relaxing place. In 1978 I met my future husband playing darts. My soon to be father-in-law was there too. Many more years were spent there, with an extended family.Brenda

Watched the1966 World Cup here sitting on the step of the bar. Took my 2 children now 35 & 31 yrs old to the children's bar. Took their photos & they still had the same gold stars on the wall.brilliant memories of the whole family holiday.

I remember playing darts in there on a Friday night with my Dad (who ran Nutts) and some of the lads from the Ives and Nutts site - Alan and Ellen behind the bar and young Eileen helping, 1983/84/85 - happy days....

Fond memories of Sues from around 1964. The whole family used to go there every evening when we went on our summer holidays and my Uncle Len used to play drums while I would play on the penny and halfpenny amusement machines which were fixed along the back wall. I also remember we would go to lunch nearby in a place we called the pudding shop and I would have a hubble bubbly drink in a dimpled bottle

I remember too...I had a chalet on the Southbank. But loved drinking in little Ives 1975. Great memories. My wonderful dad built a caravan in our back yard in Clapham s.w.4 We were on Bell Farm in minster...Still have family there now. A bungalow on 3ways Bell Farm Lane. Gloria

Hi there, Sue was Ellens mum and was always in the club until she died. We had some really good sing songs, young and old and was the place to meet up for all us weekenders coming from London. The bar was a treasure trove of shells which lit up and the nodding bird used to fasinate my husband and myself as kids. One thing you could count on-the decor never changed, but it was a place where every body knew your name....cheers!D
