Wow it sure is. Kinda looked like a submarine from the thumb. Suppose it doesn't interfere with the wildlife?

I agree w/George T.
Made me think of the Alaskan Pipeline.

Very nice. You made a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Looks like an artifact from another civilization. Strange things lurk in these woods.

You ave managed to make this a thing of beauty, Larry.

great shot.

Look out Larry, whatever is in the pipe is flowing toward you..:) Very nice image, BTW!

Th is is incredible. The pipe is foreign and alien, but has been there long enough that it forms part of the environment. Shows you we can get used to anything. I guess burying these damn things (I presume as gas pipeline) would be impractical.

Very good picture of man's invasion. However, the metal has weathered nicely to fit in with the landscape.
Leo Charette13-Dec-2004 15:23
Very nice perspective. I like seeing the tension between the quiet of nature and the obtrusiveness of man-made. A beautiful image with great textures.

It looks so alien in that beautiful scenery.

I wonder if it's the trans continental pipeline build by Starbucks to transport coffee beans (in a slurry to suspend the beans). I heard about it on NPR a couple of years back on April 1.

Excellent composition with the leading line. Good muted colors.
Jude Marion13-Dec-2004 13:36
Isn't it just! Holy cow! Just a bit intrusive on the landscape, no?
Great photo, tho! I love the colours ... the rust on the pipe is lovely ...
Guest 13-Dec-2004 12:54
wow...that pipe sure does intrude on nature.
Yvonne13-Dec-2004 11:24
The metal must stay warm enough to melt the snow! I love the warm rust colours and teal blue of the pines. Great picture as always!
Karen Stuebing13-Dec-2004 10:49
It sure it. Great composition and find. I would have walked right by this probably but you turned it into a intriguing photo.

WoW! What an awesome shot...next thing you know, Mulder'll be popping his head up, shouting 'aliens! aliens built it!!!' :)
