Our house has a field stone foundation and a few of these fellows live in it and are very busy right now preparing for the winter.

How can anyone not love that look. Great catch.

ALVIN!!!!! LOL (wondering if anyone got that) :) Cute chipmunk! I have a chipmunk-chasing cat....most of the time when I see these litte critters they aren't in such good shape. :(
jypsee28-Sep-2004 16:48
They actually do sit like that when they know they can't run without attracting attention...I wish I had your steady hands...great focus!

Cute critter capture.
Guest 28-Sep-2004 14:19
what did you do, hypnotize him/her? They are so hard to catch sight of much less catch in a photo. The light makes the fur shiny, its really nice.
Herb 28-Sep-2004 13:48
Good catch
Jude Marion28-Sep-2004 13:20
WOW - you must have bribed him with something tastey to get him to stay still long enough to catch this shot! Very nice photo ... great catch!

Beautiful light on this chipmunk Larry. Lovely pose, dof and sharp fur texture. Great nature work.

Beautiful! What animal is it - seems very small. It looks a similar animal to our
Australian ring-tail possum but they're a larger animal than this appears to be.

Wonderful Larry!!

This one definitely posed for you. It couldn't have been in a better spot. Very nice composition and great detail.

He is so cute, and again, just look at all of the textures in this photo. How do you get animals to pose in such special places? I look forward to your captions almost as much as your photos!

he who pauses poses.... love it.... very nice image
Karen Stuebing28-Sep-2004 10:18
Great capture. They don't usually sit still long enough to photograph. Wonderful detail and sharpness.

Definite cute factor - I remember the rules asking you not to feed them, as they are reckoned to be pests - difficult to imagine. CH
