On 13 April, I took the red eyes from Seattle to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to ferry a Quest Kodiak aircraft back to Seattle. My friend Joe wanted to come along for the ride and see the United States from above. Due to bad weather, it took us three days and 20 flying hours and many diversion for weather. We only made to Montgomery, Alabama the first day since we had severe thunderstorms over the Florida panhandle, the gulf states and over Memphis. Early on the second day, we departed and diverted to Olathe Kansas for fuel and couldn't make into Wichita due to thunderstorm. Quick fuel stop, we continue to Cheyenne Wyoming however the surface wind in the Wyoming mountain was forecast to be over 50 mph so we ended up in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. We managed to explore Scottsbluff during our stay. Again we departed early and was unable to fly over Larime, Rockspring, and along Interstate 80 due to low ceiling, snow and freezing rain. We turn north to Miles City and nort of Great Falls Montana before we could continue west. After 5 hours of flying we landed in Spokane Felt Field for fuel and breakfast. It was an easy but a long 1 hour flight from Spokane to Seattle. Here are the pictures from our trip and hope you enjoy the aerial view of the United States
