Surrounded---but not affected---by aura cavities

Fin landscape above Negro Bill Canyon (near Moab, Utah)

Seekers of Understanding make pilgrimages to sites that hold special meaning for them.
This is true for those observing the urgings of their religion, those hoping for a
miraculous cure, brain-dead movie lovers that visit the sites of movie scenes, and
people who want to reach a higher plane of existence. I fall into the last category.

The plateau of sandstone fins above Negro Bill Canyon is a sacred place where I can seek
Oneness with the rock in an attempt to express my submission to the Great Wonder. On my
early 2007 trip to Moab I was called once again to this temple of nature. But this visit
was special in that it exposed me to something I thought I would never see in my physical
lifetime: an aura center. As I wandered through the fins I became attracted by an unseen
force; this attraction led me to this spot atop a huge sandstone fin.

Those In The Know will instantly realize that this is an aura center, a rare place subject to
intermittent beaming of sandstone auras into the Magnificent Ether. Sandstone is unique in that
it beams auras without provocation, but it does so in very few places. The process of beaming
releases energy at the rock-air interface, causing microscopic erosion of the sandstone surface.
Over eons, this produces depressions in the rock called aura cavities. Every cavity represents
a unique beaming event. (WARNING: Drinking rainwater found in an aura cavity water will cause a
change to your physical shell that your spouse or significant other will not appreciate.)

My prone position was an attempt to maximize my chances of channeling
some of the aura through my body. By doing so I hoped to transform myself
from a somewhat wordy person to one who speaks or writes with a reasonable
level of output, and thereby perhaps wins a coveted award.

Capturing the beam of sandstone aura is a daunting task of chance, akin to trying to cross the Pacific
Ocean on a raft made of water-soluble reeds. I was unsuccessful with the channeling. Brevity still eludes me.

What's the street name and house number in that Gettysburg address?

This fin is in a funk, riddled by so much depression. The shortest path to brevity is careful studying of the Gettysburg Address.

he's just envious because of the hat Dave...not many of us can wear such a thing with a straight face...

Rick, Thanks for the info. In the quest for Enlightenment I am eager to apply new ideas if they are genuine. Is your advice based on personal experience or is it the casual musing of an armchair aura cavatist? If personal experience, has it been documented in the Journal for the Advanced Analysis of Aural Actions, Attributes, and Affects (published every April and August in Atlanta)? I await an accurate, applicable, astonishing answer.

Every aura cavatist worth his sandstone knows to to properly channel the aura through his body, he must be lying face down................and no hat.

Very strange. I don't associate nature with eloquence, but with awe and speechlessness, and given our impoverishment through profuse conceptualization of whole new hyperrealities, with tragedy.

Yellow Spots. Thats a no-no when attempting an aura body crossing. Life,s mysteries are solved by applying extreme attention to its tiniest and unseen faults.

Still extremely funny, though.

Dave, you will find an honest politician long before you find brevity. Like, never.

So, you reach a higher plane by making yourself prone? I see, and I agree that humbling the mast of ego is a prerequisite "attitude" with which to approach the spiritual quest. Don't get hung up on the word "job"; I was using it colloquially and, besides, I know you are retired.

For the benefit of your audience, please explain how sandstone makes you weightless. It seems to have done so, given the considerable volume of air in your explanation of this photo. Also, the geologists among us are intrigued (if that's the right word) with your explanation of the formation of the potholes.

May you never tire in the pursuit of your quest!

Steve, feedback such as yours is one of the things that gives me the moral strength to continue my Quest. However, I must, for the benefit of others who might read this forum, clarify some things you mention. 1. While the space shuttle can make a person weightless, sandstone has that capacity and is more readily available (and cheaper---my quest is done on a budget). 2. The phrase "being in a prone position" is a technical term that connotes a spiritual element and is therefore more appropriate than "lying down." The Quest is not a "job," it is a calling. Please continue to offer insightful comments.

Dave, your attempts to attain a higher consciousness are truly admirable. To encourage you to keep trying, let me remind you that you have already achieved some successes. For example, your capacity to illuminate your inner child has been clearly documented:

Just remember, the supreme achievement is worth risking failure after failure. As a Zen teacher once said, "My whole life is spent filling the well with snow."

On the other hand, if you want to reach a higher plane quickly, why don't you apply to ride on the Space Shuttle.

Nice photo by the way, even if you were lying down on the job.
