This bland-looking mound of sandstone dirt conceals uranium-related chemicals that I
probably have never heard of and don't want to know about. The gap in the left distance
is where the Colorado River flows out of a canyon and is the site of the earlier bridge-
crossing photos. (The river and the bridge are visible in the original size image.)
This shot was taken from Potash Road (Utah 279); moments earlier I left the main
highway (Utah 191) and now I am heading toward the river again, which I will
re-join at "The Portal," another gap through which the river flows.
In the background: the snowy La Sal Mountains.
