The buildings at right have something to do with the effort to contain the (radioactive?)
remnants of uranium processing that took place here in past decades. The processing plant
is gone, but the leftovers from the activity remain, buried under the low, level-topped
mound behind the buildings. I heard that starting this year or next, the remnants will
be shipped out of town to a permanent storage site away from the Colorado River.
