Looking east at Jackson Butte, which is a tilted mesa inside an abandoned meander
of the Colorado River. The meander, known as Jackson Hole, goes around
the back side of the butte. This is not to be confused with Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
As I gazed upon this beautiful feature, it called to me to explore it on foot.

A jungle of tamarisk trees stretches out in front of me. Between those trees and the
red-orange cliff just above them, is the muddy Colorado River, flowing from left to right.
