In September 2007 I attended Speed Week at the Bonneville Speedway. The Speed Week pit area and start of the timing course were three miles away from end of the paved access road that leads to the salt flats. All participants and observers had to drive on the salt for three miles just to get to where the action took place. I took this picture during that drive. Orange traffic cones marked the driving route.
At center, in the distance is Floating Island,
a place that has called to me repeatedly. At far left is one of the peaks of the Silver Island Mountains.
That had to be a helluva great trip. I've enjoyed these images, and went over all the pics of the interior of the vehicle and how you upgraded it along the way. Quite interesting.
