Wyes guy at Marblehead, Utah

view map

This documents the first time I have stood at the apex of a wye. This abandoned wye is at Marblehead, Utah and is part of a railroad spur that served the (now razed) Marblehead lime plant, which is in the distance at left.

The nearby main line, just to the right of me---see the poles) has belonged to the Union Pacific Railroad since January 1983, when it absorbed the former owner (Western Pacific Railroad).

Joe Tripod, my photographic assistant,
was instrumental in the production of this image.

Better switch before you run out of track...

Why ask wye? It's not important at this junction...

Why does a guy try to stand on a wye?
