This endemic micro-stunner, at a little over 3 inches in total length, is just about the smallest Philippine sunbird. It's rather not easy to find (this was only the second time I saw it in the field in 3 years of birding), and it's more active than an unstable particle of an atom breaking apart. Because of this, I was convinced that it's not possible to photograph this bird well..... until this capture materialized.

Looking at it closely on my monitor, I'm hypnotized by this creature's amazing beauty, all displayed in frame-filling splendor. The clean background, the detail of the tiny feathers and the vivid colors all make this pic one of my proudest shutter clicks to date. Now i know why it was named as such.

Simply fabulous; I know how flight sunbirds are but this one you have managed to capture in all its pristine glory. Hats off to you.

Cheers, Vikas.
