26th November 2007 - Mrs Gobby goes quiet

I am normally “Mrs Gobby”, never short of something to say or an opinion (however much most of them are completely crap) but today I’m speechless.

It’s a long and rather depressing story but I gave up my Sunday, got my camera broken, left behind my little sad-faced family and went on yet another wild goose chase for my job. This is the second time this has happened to me in the space of six weeks or so, though for different reasons and I’m deeply unhappy about it.

So, for once I’m going to “say nothing” because if I say what I’d like to say then I may get myself into deep trouble. Here is an uninteresting photo of a gobby fish with a scourer inside…….

Sometime soon, things have got to start going right for me at work – they’ve just got to. The law of averages says that and I’m a statistician so I know that to be true. I just hope the corner is turned sooner rather than later because I’m not sure how many more times I can get back onto my feet after being hit.

When it started I was like a weebil – I got knocked then I bounced back upright. Somewhere along the way though, I’ve lost the ability to bounce and find myself struggling to my feet with ever-increasing difficulty.

Last year - cheese......again!

Like Terry Wogan says, 'If you fall down, see if there's anything down there you can be doing, before you go to the bother of getting up again' ;-)

Hang in there. I hope it helps a little to share your experiences. I know it benefits the rest of us.
