31st July 2007 - seedy

This photo is ‘apropos of nothing’ as Sheryl Crow once said. It’s just a pretty thing that has been in my face every time I’ve been in and out of our door for the past few weeks since I photographed the same thing in flower a few weeks back. Ooops - having looked for the shot to link back, I realise I didn't post it here so I'm not going to make the link after all. It’s a geranium – as in a real geranium, not a pelargonium masquerading as a geranium, a good, old-fashioned cranesbill herbaceous perennial geranium. I love ‘em. In fact, I’ve planted a range of other cultivars of the same species in the garden here and they’re all flourishing so they obviously appreciate the conditions.

To be precise, this one is a Johnson’s Blue I believe, although I must confess to only being 99% sure on that one because I didn’t plant it myself. Not that it’s very blue at the moment. I confess to being so anal about my plant photography that I keep the labels of what I’m planting so I can attribute them correctly when I shoot them. Is that the act of a sad old git or what?

Anyway, even in death it’s bloody gorgeous to my eyes so I make no apologies for its appearance here today, on a day when I feel embattled work-wise again so am beating a hasty retreat into some sort of protective shell for a few days and taking a few days off.

I need it badly.

Last year, I was lamenting TOTPs demise.
