So, after all the excitement of the last few days, was it back to normal today? Well, yes, if you regard the day as a whole......a two hour journey home from work filled me with road rage and despair and a quiet night in.
In fact, though, the evening was not at all as normal. We didn't cook, for one thing - last night's curry left-overs went down a treat and we didn't even sit down until 9pmish because we had all our catching up to do from a couple of days pretty-much without talking to anyone. Attempts to make a phone-call made us realise our phone is out of order (again) so far from being able to catch up with our family and friends we were left incommunicado again.
I'd not been inspired to take a photo at any stage of the day really but this candlestick reminded me of a wonderful evening the night before and of a time when candles dripped wax and gave us those lovely crusted chianti bottles in Italian restaurants. Very evocative. The wax on this candlestick came from a windy evening when the wax was being blown away from the flame before it could be burned up so it all trickled down the side. Lovely!
