The heatwave continues with today's temperature only tenths of a degree below the UK all time record. The Met Office says that we could well break that record today as it is going to be even hotter than yesterday apparently. I'm relieved to see that Monday's forecast is cooler as I have to drive around 500 miles between Monday and Tuesday to go to see a client in the North.

Today we flumped - no question of doing any work, it was just too hot.

One of David's oldest friends (an ex-flatmate) has recently moved house and gained a swimming pool in the process so it was round to his for a barbie and some pool fun this evening. I don't think I could ever pluck up courage to swim in front of David's friends - just one of those terrible hang-ups about being fat but I, along with Lucy the dog, stood on the side of the pool and enjoyed watching the boys all larking around in the pool at 11pm and wishing I wasn't so self-conscious because I REALLY would have loved to go in myself.........and I'm an excellent swimmer too!
