Superb and clever!

it took me a while to realise what the white things were ... now I think I know, I like this image even more -- the treatment is great, although I don't know what it says on the mask

I love the way you're able to convey your thoughts into photos and not just that, but always in a stylish and creative way ;)
A lot of us here believe in you and your work girl, never forget it and keep us all with mouths open looking at your works in the future, ok??

The light is perfect in this one also... I almost forgot to say it

Wonderful... the idea is very expressive. Your realisation is very beautiful, with this choice of DOF and the very soft treatment.

Nicely done!

Sometimes the verbal and written language is not enough and the visual language is powerful. Sometimes when we cannot speak, or words fail. Sometimes things can be said with images such as this.

EXCELLENT!
Sharon Rogers29-Nov-2006 14:35
powerful stuff as always, it seems you are listening to something and with the mouth covered cannot share with us what you are listening to. v>

I am ready to listen..omg this is fantastic!..v
Guest 26-Nov-2006 02:27
Silence is stronger than words. If we choose it. If it is forced on us then there is no greater pain. vvvvvvv

Just another great reminder of where you have travelled creatively.
Compared to your recent work, I'm still waiting at the station.
Big vote, Ai Li

Just to listen..not to speak or sing..
Your shots create an endless bout of questions.
another winner in so many different aspects..v..
Guest 25-Nov-2006 08:53
Excellent. What really finishes the photo for me, is the iPod :-)
Jola Dziubinska25-Nov-2006 00:11
Very impressive.
Jennifer Zhou24-Nov-2006 10:06
I love the soft focus here, gives the picture a dreamy feeling. You seem so close to us, but at same time so unreachable..
Guest 24-Nov-2006 01:49
What else can I add?

You have many listeners, Ai Li, because your images speak and your viewers hear the message as well as see and feel it. Silence is a value as well, as long as it can be a prelude to expression. Art is not a passive medium of communication. And you are a sublime artist, as this image proves. Thank you, Ai Li, for giving me a chance to be of help to you. I welcome the chance to help you nourish your ability to express yourself visually.
Guenter Eh23-Nov-2006 19:28
Ai Li: YOU are listening always to the words speaking out of our pictures and give us the feedback with your thoughts, suggestions and inspirations. And I know what I`m talking about here!

You are a very special person and WE have to thank you!

Antonis Sarantos23-Nov-2006 15:54
Speechless,
I mean, I am ...
david procter23-Nov-2006 14:42
Another unmistakable AiLi portrait. The scope for interpretation again enormous. The thumbnail appeared as a figure donning a surgical mask but a closer look reveals a very delicately muted voice. i wonder what youre listening to and what the writing means?
Kal Khogali23-Nov-2006 13:24
Ah You don't see and don't speak....An aquaintance once said to me "you have two ears and one mouth...try to use them in that proportion". Quite Dramatic image ;-))K
Chris Sofopoulos23-Nov-2006 13:17
Always Ai Li. I love your creativity and fresh ideas.
This is among my favourites! Tremendous power and beauty of meaning.
A vote is the less we can give.
Richard Calmes23-Nov-2006 13:04
There is a lot going on here! I wish I could read the note! It is a powerful image nonetheless! V
Stu23-Nov-2006 12:35
I thought the paper was floating at first due to the soft focus. I think this is magnificent, once again!
Matylda Lempel-Chareza Photography23-Nov-2006 12:07

Guest 23-Nov-2006 10:40
Absolutely love this one Ai Li - really top notch work yet again. It's been fantastic seeing these very personal galleries develop, but this is one of my very favourite images of all of them - very pure and concentrated, with not an inch of wasted space in the comp. A thousand votes!
sebas veldhuisen23-Nov-2006 08:39
Very, very good, both technical and artistic. V
Guest 23-Nov-2006 08:15
Genius shot. Why are you not a professional photographer.
Your work is something we all aspire to achieve. v!
Guest 23-Nov-2006 05:46
You are proving us all the time that message does not necessarily come only with words, but also with the image, Ai Li! In this gallery, you have them all - text, sound and image. A bold image, with a somewhat disturbing view of your eyes in the dark. Excellent processing that gives a soft touch. BraVo.
Guest 23-Nov-2006 03:26
Lol! This cracks me up Ai Li! Very well done! I can't read the words but I bet they say Thank You - and thank you too for sharig your brilliant work! Now switch the headphones off, be quiet and start listening!! Hehe :-))

Jen Bixler23-Nov-2006 03:06
Is that IPod headphones? Your image makes me wonder so much. Excellent.
jude23-Nov-2006 02:28
Great to have this in a close-up ... brings us to you in a personal way. I like how the slight sight of your eyes seem to be looking off to the side instead of at us..
Or perhaps you're listening to the voice of someone else.. :)
