MACHIAS SEAL ISLAND, GULF OF MAINE

AMERICAN BITTERN
Usually dwelling in the tall vegetation of a marsh, this bird found the grounds of the lightstation were rich with earthworms.
It was little bothered by nearby hammering, power tools and other human activity.
