Autumn is when this vine really comes into its own, with its drooping clusters of brilliant seedpods. Love to see this climbing over shrubs or up trees. The stem can become very thick with time (almost like that of a wisteria or a grape vine).
What's the message in this counterpoint name? They're so intensely red and with orange bracts just to make sure we've noticed them that they must surely be either intended to attract birds or warn of poison!
