Crab spider (Tmarus sp.) on egg sac

This is a peculiar looking little spider (perhaps 5 mm or so), which sits with its long legs stretched out in front like this, giving it an odd shape, not spider-like at all. She is guarding her eggs which are carefully wrapped in a blade of grass. I like the way that a vetch plant has twined around the grassy nest as if holding it in place.

Great eye to spot this mom! I wonder if spiders get creeped out by anything. :-)

I've not seen this posture from a spider. Excellent capture of this protective behavior.

I wonder if she chose that plant for that very reason to help with keeping her babies safe?
She looks hard to find. Good eyes as usual Christine.
