Aphids and ants

I noticed some activity on a plant stalk, and looking closer saw what almost looked like a nest of aphids (though of course, it wasn't a nest). The aphids just happened to be ensconced in the deeper part of the stem, and they were being vigorously attended by these ants. I am not sure, but wonder if the ants might be Tetramorium species.
