Mom had to wait 50 years to get her engagement ring (Dad didn't have 2 nickles to rub together), and he said 2 years ago, at their 50th anniversary party, that she had been on 'probation' for the past 50 years. He gave her this, with the promise of 50 more. He's quite the romantic, and a good guy.
