I wonder where they came up with that name?? Not in this century I know.
You know it almost looks unfinished without a house built onto it. Or maybe I'm just used to seeing tall lighthouses.

Thanks Gary, I thought I had added a parenthical note about the rename; guess I forgot. After 50 years of calling it Gay Head, it may take me that long to start calling it Aquinnah ;)

This is now actually called Aquinnah Light - Gay Head was renamed recently.
