Yes Carol, we remember Jake's Barn (Movie Theater)when the entrance price was six cents. My name is Mike Mantino and I graduated from School #43 in 1944. In 1947 I viewed the movie, "It's A Wonderful Life" at The Barn and it has stuck with me ever since. Best movie ever, ever produced and I thank the tempestuous owner of Jake's Barn, Jake Rappaport, for showing it. Joe(I think) Santucci was in one of my classes and must be a relative of yours. If he's still kicking, give him a "Hello" from the past for me. God Bless Lovejoy!

This is my school, from 1931-1939. This is the "old" building, dating from 1890 or so. The new building is really on Benzinger. The view here is at the corner of Gold and Lovejoy. I used to live across the street.
