Ladder 11 was stricken from the Buffalo Fire Department in 2002. Ladder 11 along with Engine 18 down the street were shut down because of budget problems. Directly across from Ladder 11 was the old Precinct 8 station house. Now this area, once thriving, has lost all of it's public protection. Ladder 11 was moved to Engine 3's quarters for a time. This station house now sit's vacated. Hopefully, it will be saved and not suffer the broken glass syndrome as this area has been plagued by, such as it's close neighbor the Central Terminal.
