My name is Adam, I've combed the city of Buffalo for quite some time now and have made s list of historical properties that I have interest in restoring, if the price is right of course. I've been trying to locate the owners of this building to see if they are willing to negotiate a sale. If anyone can help me cornering this matter please let me know!

My uncle owns this building - or at least owned it last I knew. I haven't heard anything about it being sold, but I don't see or talk to him much anymore. He used it to work on his custom built racing sailboat. He had planned to do a lot of refurbishment, but the burglaries and vandalism were pretty discouraging. He used to let me and some friends use part of it for shop space and storage about 20 years ago. Neighborhood hoodlums were always trying to break in to steal our equipment. We used to use the basement as a shooting range and my friends and I made our dogs very visible when we were down there to deter the thieves. From what I heard, there were several burglaries shortly after we moved our stuff out of there and stopped working on things there. Honestly, that neighborhood was full of criminals and good for nothings. I can't see how anyone could have anything nice around there for long.

Sadly, this building will be sold to the Seneca Nation and will be demolished to make way for the Buffalo Casino, one block over from the HO Oats Silos...

I am sure the owner is jumping up and down knowing that he will be making a huge profit from a building that he probably purchased for a song and has, clearly, never maintained.

The roof has been drastically altered since the firehouse was built in 1897. Originally there was a 3rd floor attic space with windows abound. When Ladder 8 was moved to Ganson Street Engine 8 served out of it's quarters represented here until January 1st,1978.

Actually I was driving by Ladder 8 on Sunday when I did notice a gentleman owns the building. He actually stores what looked like a sailboat in their. I wanted to stop and see if I could get a interior look but I didn't.

It's a sad shape that this former fire station is in. Hopefully with the recent resurgence of activity down in this area maybe some will rehab this building for residential use just like Engine 15 and Ladder 10's old quarters on South Park Avenue. With the Elk Loft's around the corner maybe it's possible.
