As a kid, I can remember being fascinated by trains rolling right into the second floor of this station. Every weekday evening at about 5pm, a predominately maroon Erie-Lackawanna passenger train arrived from somewhere in New Jersey, across from NYC. It was pulled by one of those new fancy diesel locomotives, it really looked sharp. This terminal was torn down sometime in the 80's I think, maybe earlier, and parts of it were saved and continue to be used for servicing the subway.
