His American decorations included the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star for Valor with Oak Leaf Cluster, and Purple Heart Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters. In addition, he was awarded several major foreign awards for his service and achievement. His uniform with decorations is on display at Audie Murphy VA Medical Center in San Antonio, along with other memorabilia. He was truly one of America's greatest heroes.
