When she first spotted this lovely cotinga, Melanie thought it must be a blue morning glory flower. When she brought this bright patch of electric blue to my attention and we both raised our binoculars, we knew we were seeing our first ever lovely cotinga. Melanie promptly declared this to be the "most incredible bird of the trip." I reached for the camera.
