Statue of Francisco (Pancho) Villa

A gift to Tucson from Mexico in 1981, the statue occupies a place of considerable prominence in historic downtown Tucson. A bit ironic when you consider that Villa was one of the most notorious and fabled outlaws of the old West, and made southern Arizona the target of many of his raids.

My kind of shot. My wfe is always teasing me about my enthusiastic pursuit of this kind of image, ( seehttp://www.pbase.com/image/25459516 ) but the low vantage point in both my image and yours stresses cloud formations that bring these statues to life.
