20060120 Wensleydale Wall

Wensleydale, Yorkshire, England

Friday - first day of the weekend away.

Up the M6, leave at Carnforth and take the scenic route across the Pennines to the Yorkshire Dales.

Mist and drizzly rain - got wet several times trying to get some pics!

This dry-stone wall is in Wensleydale (as featured in the James Herriot books) - definitely one of the most beautiful spots in the whole of England.

Sadly, I didn't have time for a pint of 'Black Sheep' beer!

Nice shot. Reminds of a poem...
"I am a Dry Stone Waller.
All day I dry stone wall.
Of all appallin' callin's,
dry stone wallin's worst of all."

Nice shot John - I love the detail in this wall - obviously made with pride!
