I have gained so much from PBase this year, and the generous comments of fellow PBasers is much appreciated. And it was nice to receive the 'gifts' of having my picture re-processed by two people whose work I really admire.
Many thanks to David Clunas and Adalberto Tiburzi for re-processing my PAD of December 6th. It has been really interesting to see others process my picture. Perhaps this will happen increasingly in the future of PBase?
I chose Adal's image tonight to say thank you, and also because the red is so dramatic, and takes the picture into an area I never envisaged - from Victoriana to Roman Ampitheatre!
Adal's comments: "here it is the result of my first attempt.
As you can see it has more of a Roman Bridge than of a Victorian
Stonehenge.
LOL
I can't guess how that could have happened... ;-)
Hope you like it!"
And David has certainly achieved the improvement that eluded me.
David's comments:
"Thanks John, interesting image to work with.
I copied the blue channel and then went for a natural conversion using channel mixer and levels.
Converted this to grayscale and then copied the blue channel over the top of the image. I then adjusted the layer settings. Converted to tritone, made a few dodge and burn tweaks and rotated the image to straighten the verticals.
Maybe a little dark, depending on your printer and screen settings."
