I have complained before in this venue about being held up by long slow trains. Again today it happened (about once every two weeks). I decided to just relax and wait it out. I put the Grateful Dead on the Zune and sat back. But wait a minute, there could be a silver lining in all this. I very attentively watched the whole train, every car, in the hope that Dave Beedon might be on one of them. Alas, my hopes were dashed.

I strive to avoid placing myself close to large quantities of toxic chemicals. In Texas, the Land of the Big Everything, such materials exist in awesome quantity. Your train-watching experience would have been more satisfying had you paid attention to the sweet sounds of the train; listening to music is not appropriate for such a hallowed event. But I give you credit for taking the first step: relaxing instead of fuming. There IS hope after all...
