I had the opportunituy to live in one of canda's maritime province for a few years. There is a rather distinctive accent there ... and the locals pronounced 'lawyer' as 'liar'. What can I say???
Guest 13-May-2005 15:36
Honest lawers? haha! Yeah, we have an establishment in Toronto with the same name too.
Gail Davison12-May-2005 22:47
Well spotted. Very funny.
Cliff12-May-2005 15:47
Haha - reminds me of that old lawyer joke : Q: Why won't sharks attack lawyers? A: Professional courtesy.
Rochelle Weiss12-May-2005 03:44
Nice capture. Not used to seeing those words all in one place!

Funny photograph. Very clear and the colors so earthy.
Guest 11-May-2005 01:02
Hope the finger is pointing to a brick wall!
Guest 10-May-2005 23:00
Lawyers love to complicate simple things.
Ask one what an oxymoron is and he will tell you:
~{!0~}The juxtaposition of two incongruous words.~{!1~}
Guest 10-May-2005 21:54
I'm from NE Scotland, and up there we pronounce it "liars", so true...
Guest 10-May-2005 21:29

I like that they had to stress the fact that they are honest. But it is probably just the same as it is with countries (The DEMOCRATIC Republic of Kongo, Deutche DEMOCRATICHE Republic etc). If you have to write it, it is probably not true.
uofmtiger10-May-2005 15:05
Priceless!LOL
Guest 10-May-2005 11:19
LOL!!! i had that exact word in my mind and was going to type it in until i saw your title. :)
nomadicdragon10-May-2005 11:14

Chris Sofopoulos10-May-2005 11:02

It deserves a vote!
Guest 10-May-2005 09:37
Ha ha! My father in law is a lawyer... I'll have to show him this! :))))
Karen Stuebing10-May-2005 09:27
The caption is exactly what came to my mind when I saw the thumb. Great find!
Guest 10-May-2005 06:47
Cool sign ... but would you actually go in and use their services??? :)
Guest 10-May-2005 06:15

Gary Winters10-May-2005 05:04
Ha!!! Love it. I have a Signs Gallery, and this would have been a definate addition. Makes one wonder about the truth in advertising laws...lol

So funny! Very well seen, Jeremy. I love that kind of find!
Karen Leaf10-May-2005 02:37
This should be in Webster's under the definition of oxymoron. Lots of laughing here.
Guest 10-May-2005 02:29
Haha...that is perfect!
Guest 10-May-2005 02:16
Very clever, Jeremy. Well seen.
Di10-May-2005 02:15
LOL!!! That's exactly what I said to myself when I first saw the thumbnail. Neat image.
Robin Reid10-May-2005 02:13
LOL .... reminds me of the joke about a man being told that a bus load of lawyers had crashed off a cliff into the sea. Sounded great and he cheered. Then the story teller said, 'problem was ... the bus wasn't full!'
Guest 10-May-2005 01:59
What does it point to...a brick wall, the john?
Guest 10-May-2005 01:46
Yes, I think so. This is a HUGE oxymoron. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
Coleen Perilloux Landry10-May-2005 01:45
We have a few lawyers in the family so I can't always make jokes, but this is a classic!
Chris10-May-2005 01:28
Do you think the lawyers themselves were snickering when they ordered that sign?
