I lived on Guam for 37 years, went there in1968 from Philippines.I was connected with the DOE (Dept. of Educ).I went to work with the different public schools on Guam before I became a high school counselor and school registrar after I got my master's degree in Guidance and Counseling. My first assignment as a school counselor was at Dededo Jr. High School and that was in 1975-1976. I was there for a year and then I moved to JFK High School in Tumon, Guam and stayed there for over 10 memorable years. I was in charged of students whose last names began with L-Z, all grades. I had a lot of students fro military families from NCS and Andersen Air Force Base.. Since I was divorced at that time, I dated some military officers that I met at Top of the Mar, an officer's club on top of the hill, somewhere in Sumay. I also had very good memories of Guam, lots of friends , mostly locals and I was very active in civic clubs, all non-profit organizations.. I held offices from these clubs from President down to Member-at-Large.When I was the President of Guam Women's Club, Mrs. Johnson, wife of Commander Johnson of the Mariana's, was our honorary member.Their teen-aged son( I forgot his first name now) was my counselee at JFK. it was very nice to read all the comments and emotional feelings involved concerning Guam that I couldn't help but respond, too. I now live in Seal Beach, CA moved out of Guam in 2004.My previous name was Dori Gorostiza but now I'm. Dori Richardson. For those who are reading this, if you happen to be my student at Dededo Jr.High or at JFK High School or if you're one of those nice guys that I dated during those wonderful years, please contact me and I'll be very glad to respond.. My email:dori.richardson@gmail.com. Thank you for your time. Dori Richardson
