B.M. Griffin was killed at the Battle of Breakfast Branch in March of 1818. The battle with the Indians started a chain of events which would have national impact and cause quite a stir. In this battle young Mark Willcox was gravely wounded. He later became a major general and led troops in the Indian Wars.
